Rinus van Kalmthout does not have to leave Ed Carpenter Racing in the coming years. His race team emphasized in conversation with Formule1.nl the full confidence that the Dutchman is capable of great performances within a few years and therefore wants to continue to stand behind him.
Veekay, as his nickname is known in the United States, is known in IndyCar as a talented driver. Other teams within the motorsport class have also noticed this, as there is reportedly plenty of interest in securing him for 2023.
Van Kalmthout, however, is comfortable with his racing stable for the time being. Ed Carpenter, who is both team owner and manager, expresses great confidence in him. "We want to continue to grow and build the team around Rinus. We want to show him that he can live up to his ambitions here," he revealed in the interview.
VeeKay takes time to make his choice
This coming season, the Dutchman has the opportunity to leave for another team and thus increase his chances of winning the World Championship. VeeKay indicates that he is not thinking about his future for the time being, which seems to leave his team in uncertainty for the next few months.
