Rally legend critical of Vettel: 'Then he should quit'
- GPblog.com
Sebastian Vettel has recently been increasingly committed to climate protection. If it were up to former Rally Champion Walter Röhrl, it would be time for the German to stop racing in Formula 1.
F1 and climate protection do not go together
Vettel is getting fierce criticism over him. The four-time World Champion thinks that climate protection is an important issue, but at the same time he races all over the world. According to Röhrl, this cannot go together. "I once wondered what happened to him, but if I come to my senses after 15 years in motorsport and now think I am an environmentalist, then I have to stop," he is quoted by Die Welt.
"He cannot whine that he wants to do something for the environment and at the same time fly around the world in Formula 1," Röhrl continued. According to 75-year-old German, Vettel needs to plan his life more consistently.
Lack of motivation
Incidentally, Röhrl thinks that Vettel may lose some motivation to race due to his commitment to climate protection. Something you should not have in Formula 1, because sometimes it is about thousandths of seconds.
