Internet reactions Baku | 'Seems like pit stop Perez was extended on purpose'
- GPblog.com
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix may not have been as chaotic as we are normally used to, but there is still plenty to talk about. After the dropouts of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton's back pain, and Max Verstappen's overtaking of Sergio Perez, the internet has once again had plenty of reaction to the race in Baku.
Internet reactions to Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Verstappen was leagues ahead in pace today but I did want to see how Leclerc would have done. Probably badly, but still

Verstappen has now won more races from Leclerc poles than Leclerc has won from Leclerc poles #AzerbaijanGP #WTF1

The most impressive thing for me is Sebastian Vettel going down an escape road, spin turning incredibly and STILL finishing 6th

people will say “team orders” but never “verstappen was over a second faster per lap” (goes for spain too)

Disaster for Ferrari, the perfect result for Red Bull and Verstappen. Checo was brilliant again, but if it wasn’t before it’s clear now whose basket RB’s eggs are in. Maybe he needs a Multi21 moment. George great as ever. Race itself… alright but not exactly a classic.

Max Verstappen is now officially Red Bull’s most successful driver in terms of podiums achieved.

Even if he isn’t necessarily a qualifying specialist, Max Verstappen is just built different on race day. Wherever he starts, he gives you that feeling of inevitability that he will pull something out. Ironically very similar to peak Vettel and Hamilton before him.

Verstappen has outscored Leclerc by 80 points across the last five grands prix. A turnaround surely no-one could have envisaged after Melbourne. #AzerbaijanGP #F1

nah see i could never be a professional sportsman, if i was Leclerc i’d simply have to peoples elbow the ferrari CEO
— niran (@TheOfficialFNG) June 12, 2022
That's 3 wins (potentially) that Leclerc has lost because of car/Ferrari issues.
— Jimmy Broadbent (@JimmyBroadbent) June 12, 2022
They're giving this to Red Bull.
for all the assistance that ferrari have had in charles leclerc’s career bringing him through the feeder series, through sauber and into the ferrari, they sure are fucking him over when it matters the most.

of course Perez is told not to fight and gets a 5s pit stop
— deni (@fiagirly) June 12, 2022
Red Bull will probably ask Perez to hand Max the championship trophy in the celebration at the end of the year as well
— Hope (@Itslightsout1) June 12, 2022
Lewis Hamilton got unlucky on a pit stop again, is driving with his back getting absolutely wrecked by the porpoising, and is still gonna finish in 4th place.
— Luis Paez-Pumar (@lppny) June 12, 2022
What a lad.
Hamilton overtaking cars left right and centre with a spine shattered in 48 places due to the proposing. This man is just built different

Looks like Perez's pit stop was deliberately extended to ensure he didn't overcut Verstappen #AzerbaidjanGP

Much like Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, I drive a shitbox every day
