The Canadian Grand Prix is already looking a bit like a race driven. Charles Leclerc with ten places penalty will need an insane race to still have a chance of winning, therefore the statement: Max Verstappen is going to win the Canadian GP by a large margin.

Verstappen got a fine piece of news on Saturday in Canada. Title rival Leclerc will start the Canadian Grand Prix with a ten-place penalty, which means he will not start within the top ten on Sunday. This while Verstappen was rock solid during the first two free practice sessions at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. In both FP1 and FP2 Verstappen drove the fastest time. The Dutchman seems to like the track, while Leclerc had to get used to it during the first free practice.

No opposition from Perez

Sergio Perez currently occupies the second spot in the drivers' standings, but does not seem to be up to speed yet in Montreal. During the first free practice the Mexican finished fourth and in FP2 he only drove an eleventh time. So it seems that Verstappen should not expect attacks from his teammate either.

The only driver left with a serious chance of victory should be Carlos Sainz. However, the Spaniard is having an uneven season and still doesn't seem to be entirely comfortable with the new Ferrari F1-75. For Verstappen, the race in Canada should therefore be an easy win.
