Final starting grid Canadian GP | Verstappen starts from pole position
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen will start Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix from pole position. The Dutchman has Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz breathing down his neck during the start of the race, giving him a nice challenge.
The teammates of Verstappen and Sainz are far behind the top three. Because of a crash Sergio Perez had to drop out of qualifying already in Q2, so he has to start the race on the thirteenth position. Charles Leclerc has to settle for a nineteenth starting position due to an engine change.

Great performance of Alpine and Haas
Besides Alonso, Esteban Ocon also managed to secure a good starting spot on behalf of Alpine. His time in Q3 was good for a seventh place, keeping George Russell and Daniel Ricciardo behind him.
The qualification also caused a dance of joy at Haas. The American stable has had a difficult season, but managed to grab two decent starting positions in Canada. Kevin Magnussen will start the race from P5, while Mick Schumacher is one place behind.
