Who will stop Verstappen? 'His challengers are tripping over themselves'

In Canada, Ferrari may have had the better car, but Max Verstappen still managed to pull out the victory. Of the last six races, the Dutchman managed to win five and with 46 points lead he is putting the competition to shame so far. Who can stop the reigning world champion?
Verstappen's challengers stumble over themselves
During the first races of the season Ferrari seemed to be the team to beat this season, but now the roles have been reversed and it is Red Bull Racing that has the momentum. In conversation with Sky Sports F1 former Formula One driver and Sky analyst Damon Hill is asked who can still stop Verstappen this season.
"It seems that his challengers are tripping over themselves," said the 1996 world champion about the disappointing results at mainly Ferrari, but also Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez who lost many precious points in Canada.
Ferrari can still turn the tide
For Ferrari, it is mainly the reliability that is going wrong. Fortunately for the Italians, both cars managed to finish in the points again in Canada after Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc already had five retirements to their name this season. "They still need a little more speed to give them the comfort so they can turn the tide against the Red Bulls," said Sainclerc.
Meanwhile, this season's ailing Mercedes also had a good result in Canada. Lewis Hamilton was on the podium for the first time this season and teammate George Russell finished fourth. "Maybe this will give a glimmer of hope that will allow Mercedes to get some kind of direction again," said Hamilton.
