Nelson Piquet has been in trouble a few days before the British Grand Prix. The triple world champion would have used the N-word last year, referring to Lewis Hamilton. The FIA has now come out with a statement.
FIA supports Hamilton
The umbrella governing body wrote on social media: "The FIA strongly condemns any racist or discriminatory language and behaviour, which have no place in sport or wider society. We express our solidarity with Lewis Hamilton and fully support his commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in motor sport."

Formula 1 itself and Mercedes made their views known earlier on Tuesday. Both organisations distanced themselves from the statements. The Brazilian himself has not yet come out with a statement.
