Mercedes travels to Great Britain with a good feeling. The German formation performed excellently during the Canadian Grand Prix and hopes to bring that form to the next race weekend. Toto Wolff is confident of a good outcome, he told the German Kronen Zeitung.

Whereas the team of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell suffered a lot of porpoising at the start of the season, the team boss says it is seeing the problems diminish. It should help to narrow the gap between the stable and Ferrari and Red Bull Racing.

"We've changed our concept because we can't go as low as we've developed," Wolff says. "If we are going in the right direction now, and I believe we are, we will no longer be eight tenths behind, but much less. At least that is my wish. For us it is a matter of getting the bouncing under control. With or without the help of the FIA."

Last season a battle between Verstappen and Hamilton

Last season's race at Silverstone brought about a major change in the world championship. Max Verstappen crashed out after colliding with Hamilton, while the Briton took victory. It helped keep the championship exciting until the last race.
