Max Verstappen radiates a lot of confidence on the Silverstone circuit. The Dutchman set the fastest time in the third free practice session on Saturday afternoon, giving him a good feeling heading into qualifying. Speaking to Viaplay, Verstappen says he enjoys being on the track.

Verstappen does not have good memories of racing in Britain. Indeed, last season he ended up crashing into the wall in the early stages of the race when he collided with Lewis Hamilton, who eventually managed to finish the race weekend victorious.

However, it doesn't make Verstappen feel any less keen to travel to England. "Silverstone is the best and most beautiful circuit in England," said the reigning world champion. "Especially in a Formula One car, with all those fast corners and the history of the whole Grand Prix, of course that makes it special."

English whistle blows on Verstappen at Silverstone

Red Bull Racing's driver cannot count on much support in England, as a large proportion of the spectators booed the Dutchman. However, Christian Horner said after the first two free practice sessions that Verstappen is strong enough to focus on the race weekend.
