Lewis Hamilton "gutted" with P5
It was the seven-time-world champion that finished qualifying in P5, as Lewis Hamilton pushed hard in the rain at Silverstone. The Brit is disappointed with his final result but still strives to push forward and move up the grid tomorrow.
Hamilton and Mercedes still need to improve
Hamilton spoke to Sky Sports after Qualifying in which he had this to say "I'm a little bit gutted really, we had such a great crowd here. I felt I was pushing so hard to get on the front row or fight for pole. I think we could've been in the top three, I was pushing for second at least," as the Brit couldn't quite get it all together in the rain today. "In the rain, I think we had a chance. In the rain less bouncing, in the dry you're carrying more speed so more bouncing which is bad for us. Our race pace was better than single pace, that's also because you're going slower through the corners again. From 5th it will be tough, but I will try work my way forwards."
Although many were looking forward to see what Mercedes upgrades could do, it's Hamilton who isn't quite sold on them yet. "Everyone was working hard. We brought some parts to the car but it wasn't a big big upgrade. An improvement for us. In the dry I don't think we'd be competiting for top three."
