Perez on strong start in sprint race: 'Tricky moment with Hamilton'

Sergio Perez has brought himself back into the race with his strong performance in the sprint race in Austria. The Mexican believes Red Bull Racing got the maximum out of the qualifying race and hopes to continue that line on Sunday.
In a Red Bull Racing press release, Perez says that despite a moment with Lewis Hamilton at the start, he managed to stay out of trouble. "It was tricky with Lewis and a lot of people going side by side into turn three," explains the Red Bull driver, who believes his team got the most out of the sprint race.
Perez wants to repeat sprint trick
He would have liked to have beaten George Russell for fourth, but that was no longer possible. "I can fight from fifth," he said. As he indicated earlier, Perez thinks a podium on Sunday is quite possible due to the lessons his team can learn from the sprint race.
"Patience will be key on Sunday; I want to get a good start and get in the mix straight away in the race. I made up four places in the first lap today so hopefully tomorrow is the same," Perez reveals his ambitious plans.
