Horner expects benefit for Ferrari: 'After summer it might come towards us'

Christian Horner expects Ferrari to perform well at the Hungaroring. However, it is not a disaster according to the team boss, because after the summer break Formula 1 will travel to a number of circuits that are likely to favour Red Bull Racing.
"Over a single lap, they [Ferrari] have been very quick this year. We have seen that by the number of poles this year. Race car wise, we have had a really good car, and I would have been interested to see what would have happened in Ricard last weekend", Horner tells Sky Sports.
Charles Leclerc crashed out of the race when he ended up in the wall through his own mistake. This allowed Max Verstappen to drive comfortably to the finish, but in the opening laps of the race the Dutchman was able to put a lot of pressure on his Ferrari rival.
"I can swing from circuit to circuit, and I expect them to have the upper hand here and after the summer break maybe Spa, Monza might come back ironically more towards us", the team boss continues. The Hungarian Grand Prix will be the last race before the four-week summer break, after which the teams will start the second half of the season with new energy.
Hungaroring strong track for Ferrari
Red Bull will be looking to take home as many points as possible this weekend, but Horner is not too worried. After the summer break, the team boss expects a number of circuits to be back in Red Bull's favour.
"Short corners and at a track like this, their car runs very well. It's a pretty handy little car through those types of corners. We've seen our strengths on the longer circuits. So, hopefully that will come into play at circuits like Spa", the Briton says.
