Red Bull investigates Verstappen problems: possible engine component replacement
- GPblog.com
There is a chance that Red Bull Racing will change an engine part in Max Verstappen's car, Formula 1 journalist Erik van Haren reports on his Twitter page. However, it will have no consequences for the starting grid.
The Dutchman was hoping to secure pole position in the qualifying session of the Hungarian Grand Prix, but suffered a power loss in Q3. In the few minutes he had left, Verstappen tried several things to get his car running again, only to no avail. As a result, he had to start the race from tenth place.
Behind the scenes Red Bull have been working hard on the problems and according to Van Haren it looks like the Austrian team will have to replace an engine part. It also remains possible that a whole new engine will be needed in his car.

No penalty for Verstappen
The journalist stressed that Verstappen avoided a penalty in both cases. The world championship leader is not yet at his limit, so his team can safely work on his engine. In any case, it will be a task for the driver to get a good result in the race.
