Horner is hopeful: 'That can throw in another curveball'

Red Bull Racing hoped to compete for the front positions in Hungary, but it came out of qualifying poorly. While Max Verstappen struggled to finish in P10, Sergio Perez dropped out of the race even in Q2. Despite this, Horner remains confident in the race.
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will start from second and third respectively on Sunday afternoon. This performance was no mean feat, with the Italian team making a positive impression throughout the weekend. Horner knew ahead of the weekend that it would be difficult, he told at the FIA press conference.
"Ferrari looked pretty quick yesterday," he looks back. "And I think this type of circuit was always going to play to their strengths. We were under no illusions coming here and it's ironic how things are turned around. We used to look forward to coming here and now thinking we've just got to survive the weekend and limit the damage."
Horner hopes for good outcome
With two places in the midfield of the driver field, Red Bull will seemingly have a tough time in the race. However, Horner has been around long enough to know that plenty can still happen and therefore believes the team could just benefit from a surprise.
"We expected Ferrari to be quick. I think there's some areas on the car that hopefully we've been able to improve overnight and hopefully, I think in the races, we've always tended to race better than we've qualified so let's see how that pans out. And of course there's a bit of weather around as well, which can throw in another curveball."
