- GPblog.com
Fernando Alonso will continue to race Formula 1 in 2023, but will not do so with Alpine. The Spaniard has been confirmed as a driver for Aston Martin, making him the dream successor to Sebastian Vettel.
Alonso to Aston Martin
On Monday morning, Alonso was confirmed as the replacement for Vettel, who announced his retirement from Formula 1 last week. Aston Martin can confirm in a press release that it is a multi-year deal, which means that he is not only confirmed for 2023, but also for 2024.
Alonso makes the switch from Alpine to Aston Martin at the age of 41 and the British brand aims to use the 'special talent' of the two-time world champion Aston Martin to create a winning F1 team.
