Williams have confirmed that Alex Albon will race for Williams in 2023 and beyond. The British-Thai driver made his debut for the team this year after previously racing for Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso [AlphaTauri]. Albon is pleased to stay with the team.

Albon's reaction

"It’s really exciting to be staying with Williams Racing for 2023 and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve as a team in the remainder of this season and next year. The team is pushing hard to progress, and I am really motivated to continue this journey and further develop our learnings together," Albon said in the press release.

Williams were hoping for a big bounce up the F1 World Championship standings, but it hasn't happened yet. The team have scored just three points in 13 races this season. All those points were scored by Albon, with Nicholas Latifi the only regular driver yet to score points. Albon notes the team goal and it's clear they have a long way to go.

"It's been a good year this year. We wanted more, this is the goal and that's [points to trophies] what we're going for. It's nice to have some peace and mind going forwards about my career. To be with Williams, we've had a really good start to the season. I've enjoyed my time here. I'm really happy for the future. We'll keep our heads down and focus on maximising the car," he added.
