Horner thinks title race exciting enough: 'Don't want to see that again'

The battle between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc is not as exciting as it could be at the moment, but as far as Christian Horner is concerned there is no need for that. The Red Bull Racing team boss admits he would never wish the title fight to be more exciting than it is now.
The current title fight is nowhere near as intense as the one between Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in 2021. At this time last year, tempers were already running high between Red Bull and Mercedes, but relations with Ferrari remain amicable for the time being.
Horner does not want a repeat of 2021
When asked by Motorsportweek.com whether he would like the current battle between Red Bull and Ferrari to be more exciting, Horner answers honestly: "Last year was a heavyweight bout that went 22 rounds. And I’d prefer not to have to go through that again."
After the first thirteen races of the season, Red Bull enjoys a comfortable lead over Ferrari in the constructors' championship, in which the team has drawn a gap of no less than 97 points to the Italian racing team. In the driver's standings, Verstappen has an equally comfortable lead of eighty points over Leclerc.
