Strong supporter of Porsche entry into F1: 'Would be great'

Porsche looks set to announce a partnership with Red Bull Racing very soon. Andreas Seidl thinks it will be good news if the brand becomes part of Formula 1 from 2026, he said in an interview with Motorsportweek.com.
The FIA announced this week that it has finalised the engine regulations that will apply from the 2026 season. With these rules, the organisation tries, among other things, to keep the costs for engine suppliers under control, which makes it more attractive to join.
Seidl favours arrival of Porsche
This resulted in Porsche's decision to enter into talks with Red Bull. Both parties are reportedly already at an advanced stage of working together. For the time being, however, nothing has been signed, as Helmut Marko previously announced. Seidl hopes to see Porsche back in 2026.
"It simply would be great for Formula 1, for us as competitors, if great brands like Porsche and Audi would enter Formula 1," he judged. "I’ve been part of a battle between Porsche and Audi as well for some years, which was great, and if they want to go for the same again, I would watch it with great interest as a fan."
