- GPblog.com
The 2022 Dutch Grand Prix could be a very special edition. According to Weather.com a lot of rain showers are coming to Circuit Zandvoort.
In 2021, the Dutch GP returned to the F1 calendar and this resulted in a big party. Everywhere there were people celebrating in orange. The party only got bigger when Max Verstappen took pole and managed to turn it into victory. In 2022 that might be a big challenge for Verstappen again.
Rain at Zandvoort
Although Verstappen heads to his home country as the big favourite after his dominant win in Belgium, the challenge may be made a little tougher by the weather conditions. Weather.com predicts showers on both Saturday and Sunday. The chance of rain is 57 percent on Saturday and 52 percent on Sunday. The temperature of 24 degrees Celsius doesn't ensure that the track will dry out quickly.
The weekend will start sunny, because on Thursday and Friday it will be respectively 24 and 25 degrees with quite some sun. The chance of rain on those days is also only seven percent. If and when the rain actually falls, we will see during the weekend. Weather forecasts can change quite a lot in the space of a week.
