It was a quiet third free practice at the Zandvoort circuit, but the results suggest that qualifying could be very interesting. Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner expects a battle between three teams.

Ferrari 's Charles Leclerc was fastest, followed by Mercedes' George Russell and Red Bull's Max Verstappen. The teammates of the top three completed the top six. The differences between them were very small, especially between Russell and Leclerc. It suggests that there will be quite a fight on the Saturday afternoon of the Dutch Grand Prix when all six drivers may be able to fight for pole position.

Still something to gain for Red Bull during exciting qualifying session Zandvoort

Horner told Viaplay: "It's a very different circuit to Spa, more like Hungary. You can see it's going to be exciting between three teams, so it's about doing well on the last set of tyres." With Verstappen having set his fastest lap on the second lap of his tyres, the expectation is that there is more in it. Horner: "Yes there is, but you  don't know what the other teams haven't shown yet."

The positive of today according to Horner is that the team does seem to be fighting along now unlike Friday. "We can still get a bit out of the car for this afternoon," Horner said.
