Lewis Hamilton will start Sunday afternoon's Mercedes Grand Prix from the back of the grid, having had his engine replaced. A win therefore looks difficult this weekend, but he still has hope for the rest of the season.

The seven-time world champion has won every season since 2007, which means he can set a record this year. However, he told the journalists present at the press conference that he is not busy with personal records. He does hope to be on the top of the podium again in 2022.

"Still got 7 races to go. That's a big goal for us a team," Hamilton said. "I have no idea where our car is going to be great. It was a surprise last weekend when we got into the car and it felt so much better and different to the previous weekend. It feels like Budapest and the last race. I am trying to get that win this year but the record is not important to me."

Ricciardo gets advice from Hamilton

Hamilton also responded to rumours that Daniel Ricciardo was in the picture as the German' s reserve driver. Although he would be very happy with a teammate like Ricciardo, he thinks he is too good for such a role.

"I think he should be racing. He is far too talented, and he has earned the right to be amongst us racing. If he is part of the team then great, but the role is not really what's best for him. If I was managing him, he'd be racing."
