Horner reveals Red Bull's tactics: 'Perhaps compromised that slightly'
Christian Horner confirms that Red Bull Racing have targeted the Grand Prix in terms of set-up. With penalties going out to both Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen, they will have to work their way through the field. In the end, Verstappen finished second in qualifying beating Carlos Sainz.
Ferrari's day in Monza
It's a big celebration weekend in Monza for Ferrari. There's a 75-year anniversary to celebrate and the Italian Grand Prix is always partizan for the home team anyway. Red Bull are there to spoil the party and Horner says they have a good chance to do that in Sunday's race.
"We thought it was going to be tight with Ferrari. In qualifying, in particular, that would be the case. We perhaps compromised qualifying slightly to hopefully give the drivers a better race car for tomorrow. Let's see if that trade pays off," Horner told Sky Sports.
In Belgium, Verstappen started from P14 and worked his way through to take the lead inside 20 laps. Whether similar happens in Monza remains to be seen. Horner looks at Verstappen's chances and remains calm despite him starting higher up than 14th.
"It is still tricky to overtake here. Spa is an easier track to overtake on but with these new cars you should be able to follow close out of the two Lesmos. Theoretically, you should be able to run closer which should put you in a position to overtake," Horner added.
