Verstappen is GPBlog Driver of the Day
Verstappen won the driver of the day vote with 39%, but 'other' picked up 35% of the vote. This is likely to be Nyck de Vries. The former F2 champion and Formula E champion added 50% of Williams' total points on Sunday; the team went from four to six points. His teammate of the weekend Nicholas Latifi is still pointless. The Williams may have been running very fast at Monza, the temple of speed, but P9 on debut for last-tier Williams is a remarkable achievement.
At GPBlog Verstappen received 39% of the votes, compared to 18% for Sainz and 8% for Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen won his 11th race of the season and his fifth in a row, equalling Lewis Hamilton's longest winning streak and moving within two of the all-time record. Sainz drove a masterful race from the back after a grid penalty and finished on P4.
