Sainz surprised at criticism: 'While in Ferrari, everything seems bigger'

Carlos Sainz is experiencing his second season at Ferrari in 2022. Where he gained years of experience at McLaren, Toro Rosso and Renault, he says in conversation with Formula1.com that he is sometimes surprised by the way people criticise the Italians.
Ferrari built a car this season with which it is very strong. However, after a good start to the racing year, the team's performance deteriorated and Max Verstappen was given the chance to distance himself from the competition, in which he excelled.
Sainz is surprised by heavy criticism of Ferrari
While Ferrari is partly to blame for Verstappen being in great form, it can also blame itself a bit. Several times this year, for instance, the formation made a strategic error or the car proved not reliable enough. According to Sainz, however, the criticism of Ferrari is too severe.
"I feel like when I was in McLaren, or in Toro Rosso or in Renault, when there was a big mistake on strategy no one would come and point it out and criticise you and put you down to earth like as much as they do in Ferrari. And this is a fact that I think everyone can agree with," Sainz states. "While in Ferrari, everything seems bigger."
