Formula 1 returns to Singapore for the first time since 2019. Daniel Ricciardo is looking forward to returning to action at the circuit that has historically stood him in good stead, and hopes to come back strong after his failure at Monza.
Ricciardo has been on the podium at the Marina Bay Street Circuit four times already and did so on behalf of Red Bull Racing, which has usually come on strong in Singapore but has not managed a win there since 2013. With McLaren, the chances of a podium finish will be smaller, but nevertheless Ricciardo is looking forward to the physical and mental challenge the circuit offers.
Ricciardo aims to come back strong in Singapore
"I’ve had some good weekends in Singapore with podiums in the past and I’m looking forward to the challenge the Marina Bay Street Circuit provides both physically and mentally. It’s an intense weekend and you have to be on it but that’s all part of the fun," said the Australian in a McLaren press release.
Ricciardo hopes to come back strong after a "frustrating Sunday" at the Italian Grand Prix, where he was hit by technical problems. He added that his team has been working hard on it and is all set to deliver a good result. "We’ll continue to push hard as a team to pick up more points in the final few races," said a combative Ricciardo.
