Charles Leclerc is disappointed that he failed to convert his pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix into a win. The Monegasque is not yet sure why he had a poor start in the race, but he hopes to fix the problem before the next race.

"Well, I don't really know yet, whether it's me who did mistake in the way I do things or if it's something else, we'll have to analyse it. The only thing I felt is that I had a little bit a bit of wheelspin", Leclerc begins in the FIA press conference. Sergio Perez did have an excellent start and managed to overtake the Monegasque right at the start. The Mexican managed to hold his position and crossed the finish line first.

Pole position is crucial on the street circuit in Singapore, where overtaking is difficult, but because of his poor start, Leclerc could not take advantage of it. In the closing stages of the race, the Monegasque did manage to put pressure on Perez, but an overtake didn't happen.

Leclerc: 'Red Bull was better than us in that'

"Again, I think track position in Singapore is really, really important and to be honest, I felt like we had a really good pace today. But having said that, it's our responsibility to do a good start and today Red Bull have been better than us on that", Leclerc continues.

However, the Ferrari driver does not expect it to be a recurring problem, as teammate Carlos Sainz did have a good start. However, the Spaniard disappeared from view during the race as he was nowhere near the pace of Leclerc and Perez. "I think Carlos did a great start today so we'll look on my side and try to make it better."
