Porsche still in talks with F1 teams after failed Red Bull deal

Porsche is still in talks with several F1 teams to make its entry into the sport. The FIA confirmed this in a statement at the World Motor Sport Council in London.
During the talks on the 2026 engine regulations, a delegation from the Volkswagen Group has often sat down and so it was no surprise that Audi announced it would become an engine supplier in F1 from 2026. Porsche was also said to be interested in the king class of motorsport, but a deal with Red Bull Racing fell through.
Porsche's future in F1
The FIA is proud to have Audi in as a new partner for the sport. The governing body has been working hard to make those new regulations for 2026 such that current suppliers want to stay, but also create openings for other parties.
That Porsche too is still looking for a way into F1 despite the failed deal with Red Bull can be seen from the FIA's statement: ''We also note that Porsche are still in discussions with Formula One teams''. In doing so, Porsche would like to become part owner of the team, as was the intention with the deal with Red Bull.
With which teams Porsche is in talks about this, it is not clear. McLaren previously held off with Audi and for Aston Martin, Porsche's arrival would also be noteworthy. Sauber is all but certain to join Audi, which leaves Haas and Williams. However, whether those teams are eager to hand over the lead remains to be seen.
