Danner honours Mateschitz: 'You can achieve a lot with the right people'

The Formula 1 world is mourning the loss of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz. Former F1 driver Christian Danner looks back on the Austrian's work. According to the German, no one has ever influenced the sport as positively as Mateschitz.
On Saturday during the weekend before the US Grand Prix, it was revealed that Mateschitz died at the age of 78 after a long and serious illness. The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez was able to honour the Red Bull boss in a nice way by winning the constructors' title on Sunday.
Danner is impressed by Mateschitz's work. "There have always been people in Formula 1 or in motorsport who have made a big difference, but there has never been anyone who has influenced and supported the motorsport world as positively as Didi Mateschitz," the former racing driver says on Sport1. "Mateschitz and Red Bull have changed the sport dramatically, and for the better. You can achieve an incredible amount with the right people and the right vision and you can do it sustainably."
Red Bull's future is secure
The Red Bull boss has ensured that Red Bull's future is secure, according to documents on his foundation. Mateschitz is said to have poured hundreds of millions into the foundation to secure operations in the media and sports sector. So Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri need not worry.
