Sergio Perez will race in Brazil with a special helmet. This was revealed in the documentary series Checo, which revolves around the Mexican driver. The helmet is modelled on the Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Perez currently has his own documentary series called Checo, which airs on streaming platform StarPlus. The series takes a look at the life of the Red Bull driver, both on track and off. The first two episodes of the series were released this week and in the second episode Perez announced that he will team up with one of today's biggest media franchises.

At the next race in Brazil, Perez will wear a helmet specially designed for the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film is the sequel to the first Black Panther film from 2018 and part of the successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. A lead role in the film features Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, which may explain why Perez is promoting the film. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released on 11 November, two days before the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Hamilton already preceded Perez

Perez is not the first driver to join hands with the Black Panther film series. Previously, Lewis Hamilton used a helmet specially designed for the first film in the series. The Mercedes driver also regularly made the Wakanda Forever gesture made famous by the films.
