Hamilton has high hopes in Brazil: "Going to try as hard as we can"
Last year Lewis Hamilton had to fight from the back of the grid in the Brazil Sprint Race and fight his way through the grid. In 2022, Hamilton didn't have to fight from the back, but he came from 8th place on the grid to reach the podium. He will start the Sao Paulo Grand Prix from the front row because Carlos Sainz takes a grid penalty.

In what was the best sprint race Formula 1 has ever seen, Hamilton had battles with many drivers including rivals Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen. Hamilton even tried to attack Carlos Sainz in the closing stages, but he couldn't make up enough time.
"I am so so happy to be here. Difficult day yesterday, but starting from 8th and making my way through slowly. Congratulations to George. This is an amazing result. We should be able to work as a team and hold off the guys from behind. We are going to try as hard as we can. A win here in Brazil would be incredible," Hamilton said in the post-session interview.
Hamilton picks up six points for his efforts in the sprint race. The British driver is under investigation for a possible infringement on the grid.
