Horner on Red Bull estimation: 'We never assumed that'

Christian Horner has had a turbulent week. While Red Bull Racing managed to secure both the world championship and the constructors' championship, Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen caused turmoil in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Speaking to Sky Sports he indicated that the team's assessment was not good.
Since Verstappen did not let Perez past him last week, the Mexican is equal in points with Charles Leclerc prior to the race in Abu Dhabi. It ensures that in the final race, both men must jointly decide which driver finishes in second place.
Horner learns from situation with Red Bull
According to Horner, the team did not take such a scenario into account. "We never assumed that Checo and Charles would be tied on points in those final laps. As a team we made those mistakes," the team boss assessed in conversation with the English medium.
"You learn from them and it's how you apply them moving forward, and that's what'll we'll be doing this weekend in Abu Dhabi, as it's our priority not only to win the race but for Checo to achieve that second place in the driver's championship which is something that we as a team have never managed to do previously, finishing first and second in a driver's championship. The season that we've had with 16 victories, 5 1-2 finishes, both world championships that would be the cherry on top."
