Max Verstappen took his 15th victory of the season in Abu Dhabi on Sunday afternoon. The Red Bull Racing driver did not encounter any problems throughout the race and thus managed to drive to victory with flying colours. Afterwards, he was therefore very satisfied with the end of the season.
The reigning world champion drove away from pole position and managed to keep teammate Sergio Perez behind him at the first corner. After his first pit stop, he then managed to stay in front of the Mexican and thus drove in front, before cruising to victory.
"It was a good race," assessed Verstappen. "It was all about tyre management, and I think we looked after the tyres quite well. And, on the hard, I was literally managing from lap 1 to the end. Incredible to win again here. The 15th win of the season is incredible!"
End of season
"It's been really enjoyable to work with the whole team and to achieve something like this, this year. I know it's going to be hard to replicate something like this but it's also good motivation to try and do well next year."
