Vasseur gives remarkable answer on Ferrari rumours

Alfa Romeo team boss Fred Vasseur does not want to comment on rumours that he will be Ferrari's next team boss. The Frenchman was asked about the rumours ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and gave a striking answer.
Earlier this week, the reputable Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport reported that Mattia Binotto has been sacked as Ferrari team boss and that he will be succeeded by Vasseur from January. Ferrari itself denied this almost immediately, calling the rumours "unfounded" in a press release. This weekend, Binotto sat at the press conference and reiterated this answer once again. However, Vasseur was not at the press conference and he did not get a chance to elaborate on the situation.
Vasseur replies evasively
Upon entering the paddock on Sunday, Vasseur was still asked by onlooking reporters for his opinion. The Frenchman gave an extraordinary answer: "I'm not going to say anything about it, you'll find out soon enough."
Vasseur's response is remarkable because it is not a denial. The tone of Ferrari's press release was considerably more firm than this statement by Vasseur. The Frenchman's response seems to keep open the option that he is indeed the new team boss.
