Porsche Supercup to 2030 in Formula 1's supporting programme

The Porsche Supercup will remain in Formula 1's supporting programme at least until 2030. The series has been part of the F1 programme since 1993, so it will remain so for some time.
Pre-programme of F1
Formula 1 has put together a calendar of 24 Grands Prix for 2023, but they will not travel to all circuits. Of course, Formula 2 and 3 drivers will make their appearance on several race weekends, but the Porsche Supercup will also remain a part of the programme on a race weekend for longer.
The Porsche Supercup has been held during F1 race weekends since 1993 and on Friday, F1 and Porsche announced that this partnership has been extended. In 2023, Porsche's cars can be seen at Imola, Monaco, Spielberg, Silverstone, Budapest, Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort and Monza.
''For more than 30 years Porsche has been an important part of the Formula 1 weekend. I’m looking forward to continuing our long-standing relationship which delivers something special for our fans across our European season and beyond. It is yet another sign of our growth and influence as a platform that major brands want to continue to expand their relationships with us and the potential that is there for all our partners'', Stefano Domenicali said in the press release.
Great opportunity for Porsche
''The Porsche Supercup has been a regular fixture on selected Formula 1 weekends since 1993. And this isn’t about to change: Both parties have agreed to an eight-years contract extension. This underlines the great level of trust that Formula 1 has put in our concept and our team, as much today as for the last 30 years,'' said Thomas Laudenbach, vice president Porsche Motorsport.
''Formula 1 is the ideal platform for drivers and teams in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup to demonstrate their prowess at the highest international level. The best from Porsche’s national one-make cups come together in the Supercup. I’m also proud of the fact that the respective national Porsche Carrera Cups will continue as part of the support programme at several Formula 1 events outside Europe in the future. We will also maintain our presence in North America and even further expand our involvement,'' concluded Michael Dreiser, Sales Director of Porsche Motorsport.
Porsche themselves are also said to be still in the race for a spot as an F1 team from 2026, but as yet nothing has been announced about that. While Audi as another Volkswagen Group brand has already made their entry known, a deal between Porsche and Red Bull Racing collapsed and nothing official has been brought up since.
