Horner on Verstappen: 'He is demanding but also gives a lot back'

Christian Horner is experiencing his second period of success at Red Bull Racing with Max Verstappen. Whereas he won four world titles in a row with Sebastian Vettel between 2010 and 2013, the tally with the Dutchman now stands at two. Moreover, the end seems far from in sight.
The team boss noticed that Verstappen has an increasingly important role within the team. The driver has been with Red Bull since 2016 and has made several big strides since then. With his first world title last year, he got the needed rest over him, which helped his performance.
"You just know from Max that when you put him in the car, you get 100 per cent," Horner summed up in conversation with Formule1.nl the collaboration with Verstappen. According to the team boss, Verstappen's criticism is worth it in the end. "He is demanding, but he also gives a lot back."
Verstappen asks a lot of Red Bull
Although Verstappen already clinched the world title in Japan, he also worked hard to win in the following race weekends. "He just pushes. He pushes himself. Max is as hard on himself as he is on the team," said Horner, who won the constructors' championship with Red Bull for the first time since 2013.
