Verstappen impresses: 'At 25 years he has already won more than Alonso'

At the end of the 2016 season, Nico Rosberg left Formula 1 after winning his first world title. If he were to return to the sport today, he would choose Red Bull Racing's team if he wanted to win a second title.
"If I was a driver and I could choose which team I would race in, I would go to Red Bull to be sure," Rosberg said in conversation with La Gazzetta dello Sport. Ferrari would also be an option for the German because of the history and charm of the Italian team. "But I wouldn't go there hoping to win the title."
After a strong start to the season, Ferrari threw away the title itself due to several strategic errors and reliability problems, and Max Verstappen ran away with the title in dominant fashion. Thus, Ferrari's title drought that has been running since 2008 still did not end.
'No rival can keep up with Verstappen'
The German World Champion is impressed by Verstappen, who now has 35 victories to his name. "At 25 years old, he has already won more than Alonso. He has incredible talent and he is now complete: he has a warrior mentality like [Michael] Schumacher and [Ayrton] Senna, yet he no longer makes mistakes. In fact, no rival can keep up with him," Rosberg added.
On Friday night, Verstappen received the trophy for his second world title. Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez were also present at the FIA Price Giving Gala to celebrate their second and third places in the Drivers' Championship.
