Perez remains calm after Ricciardo's arrival: 'I'm very relaxed'

Daniel Ricciardo will be Red Bull Racing's reserve driver next season. With his return to the Austrian racing stable, he will raise the level of the entire team. Sergio Perez remains calm under the current circumstances, he told Sky Sports.
The Mexican is entering his third season at Red Bull, with the pressure on his shoulders set to increase. Indeed, in his first two racing years, he failed to make a serious bid for the world title. It ensures that the team will put his performance in 2023 under a magnifying glass.
For Perez, however, it matters little. "I'm very relaxed," he informed the English publication. "We live under a lot of pressure all of the time, it doesn't change anything from my side. I think it is a great achievement for the team to have a driver like Daniel and he is going to contribute a lot."
Perez has nice words for the Australian in this regard. "He is a great guy. He is one of he guys that I get on with the most in the paddock so it is just great to have Daniel in the team and from my side it doesn't change anything."
Ricciardo's desired F1 return
Ricciardo hopes to secure a permanent place with a Formula One team again after a gap year in 2024. Although it is not in his contract that he will get this opportunity at Red Bull, nothing is out of the question. Perez must therefore show his worth in 2023.
