Frederic Vasseur has been appointed as Ferrari's new team boss, but before the Frenchman was appointed, the Italian racing stable also knocked on the door of Christian Horner.

It was a veritable team bosses' carousel last Tuesday with all the transfer announcements. The whole circus was initiated by one team: Ferrari. Namely, that decided to appoint Vasseur as the new team boss after the departure of Mattia Binotto. Yet Vasseur turned out not to be the first choice.

Horner rejects Ferrari

Earlier, there were rumours that Andreas Seidl and Horner were the top candidates for Ferrari and had even been approached by the end of 2021. With Binotto stepping down, Ferrari had to look again and, according to The Daily Mail once again ended up with Horner. The British medium reports that Horner has rejected the request.

Horner is currently the longest-serving team boss in Formula 1 and has no plans to leave Red Bull Racing. A source said to be close to the discussion reports to the medium that there is too much political play at Ferrari and there are too many egos. If someone is successful, they are brought down by someone else and Horner would not like that.
