Monaghan does not expect to see only Red Bull copies in 2023

Red Bull Racing won no less than 17 Grands Prix this year, an absolute Formula 1 record. However, the Austrian racing stable is not worried that all the teams will all have the same cars on the grid in 2023 in terms of appearance. According to Paul Monaghan, next year's bolides will be quite different from each other, just like this season.
In Formula 1, it is often the case that the fastest car is copied by other teams in the hope of making them a lot more competitive. However, the downside of this is that you will always be behind the times and you will never become World Champion. After all, you will never be able to beat the team that introduced the concept.
'F1 cars 2023 not all the same'
Motorsport-Total.com asked chief engineer Monaghan if he expects the cars to look the same next season. "Simply put, no. I don't think the cars will look identical because I don't think we have reached that point yet. The regulations dictate the shape [of the cars] much more than before (when there was more freedom, ed.), but there are some differences, especially if you look at Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull's car."
In 2023, teams also have to reckon with some rule changes. Monaghan does not expect all race teams to come up with the same solution at the first race of the season in Bahrain. There will be three days of testing at the Bahrain International Circuit from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 February. A week later, on Sunday 5 March, the new season will then start in earnest.
Aston Martin has been the first team to announce when it will present its new car. The British formation will pull the curtain off its 2023 car on 13 January. Red Bull is also expected to present the RB19 to the outside world in mid-February.
