Christian Horner enjoyed a successful season with Red Bull Racing in 2022. However, the Austrian formation started the racing year a lot less successful, the team boss recalled in conversation with Motorsport.com. In Imola, according to him, Red Bull made the difference.
During the first three Grands Prix, Max Verstappen had to drop out no less than twice early, giving Charles Leclerc a substantial lead in the world championship. Red Bull had to come back as a result and did so at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

In Ferrari's homeland, Verstappen managed to post the fastest time in qualifying, after which the Dutchman also managed to finish on top in the sprint race. To top it off, the main race on Sunday saw Red Bull see Verstappen cross the finish line first, while Sergio Perez finished second. As a result, it caught up considerably with rival Ferrari.
"It was I think psychologically a big thing for us as a team, potentially for them as well," Horner stated. "We developed the car, improved the car and lost a little bit of weight - the car did! And then the speed came. These guys have been just fantastic this year."
