Frederic Vasseur will start his new job at Ferrari in the coming year. As the team boss of the Italian formation, he has a lot of work to do. According to Ralf Schumacher, the Frenchman brings at least one big advantage, he reveals to Bild.

Vasseur brings a lot of motorsport experience to Ferrari. At Alfa Romeo Racing in recent seasons, he served as general manager, CEO, and team boss, so he knows better than anyone what Formula 1 work is like. His challenge at Ferrari, however, will be a different story.

A lot of pressure is felt within the top team every year. The expectations around Vasseur will be sky-high in 2023. With Mattia Binotto, the racing stable managed to find its way up, but this calendar year he failed to fight for the world title until the end of the race year.

Schumacher rates Vasseur highly

Vasseur needs to change that, but the question is whether he can get everything on track in a short period. With the strategic and personal blunders seen at Ferrari in 2022, among other things, it seems the team will have to say goodbye to some people.

Schumacher does not expect Vasseur to be afraid, as he has little to lose. "Vasseur has well-run businesses in Paris. Economically, he is not dependent on the job at Ferrari. That could help," the former Formula 1 driver told the German medium.
