Juan Manuel Correa returns to F2

Juan Manuel Correa is coming back to FIA Formula 2. The official website of the racing class has just announced this. The Ecuadorian-American driver's return is special for two reasons: his serious accident at Spa (2019) and the fact that he will drive for Dutch team Van Amersfoort Racing.
“I am super grateful for the opportunity that Van Amersfoort Racing is giving me. I am very hungry, I am very motivated, and I know the team is as well. I am sure together we, the team and my teammate Richard, will make a great line-up and create a great working environment for everyone," Correa said. His teammate in the coming season will be Dutchman Richard Verschoor.
Gratitude and drive
The driver was involved in the tragic events at Spa-Francorchamps in 2019, in which Anthoine Hubert passed away. After an intensive rehabilitation and training period, the driver is now finally back on the battlefield. Correa says the return means a lot to him.
Van Amersfoort Racing CEO Rob Niessink is also excited: “We are excited to have Juan Manuel on board for our second season in the FIA F2. We have had many drivers in the past, but I have to say that the level of commitment that Juan Manuel shows is simply incredible. Besides that, his experience is valuable and will help to further develop both driver and team into the championship."
