Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher will compete together in the Race of Champions (ROC). Motorsport reports that the pair will compete for Team Germany at the event in Sweden early next year.

The ROC is split into two parts: the Race of Champions specifically, where each driver drives for themselves, and the Nation's Cup, where drivers represent their country or region. Schumacher and Vettel will compete together for Germany in the Nation's Cup part of the competition.

The German drivers are no strangers to the ROC. As a duo, they already drove together during the 2019 and 2022 editions. Besides a personal win at the ROC, Vettel already managed to win the title for Germany seven times: once alongside Pascal Wehrlein, the other six times alongside Mick's father Michael Schumacher.

'We had a lot to learn'

Vettel and Schumacher are good friends, so they are also very much looking forward to driving alongside each other again instead of against each other. "I am delighted that Mick will join me in the Race of Champions for my first race since I left Formula 1," said Vettel. "Neither of us have very much experience driving on snow and ice, so we had to learn quite a bit earlier this year."

The Race of Champions will take place in northern Sweden on 28 and 29 January 2023. Besides Vettel and Schumacher, many famous drivers will be competing, including Valtteri Bottas, Mika Häkkinen, David Coulthard, brand new Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich, W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and four-time World Rallycross champion Johan Kristoffersson.
