Can Verstappen be compared to Vettel? 'Different characters'
- GPblog.com
Christian Horner believes that Sebastian Vettel's past achievements in Formula 1 are underestimated in this day and age. The team boss believes that with his four world titles and victories, the German deserves even more applause than he already gets, he told Deutschen Presse-Agentur.
Vettel was particularly successful in his early days. With Red Bull Racing, he managed to grab four world titles in a row between 2010 and 2013, after which he was less successful in his career. He switched to Ferrari in 2015, but could not live up to expectations.
At Aston Martin, it was then impossible to compete for the world title, ending his career with four World Championships won. However, according to Horner, Vettel can be proud of the results he has achieved.
Comparison between Vettel and Verstappen
Horner, however, finds it difficult to draw a comparison between Vettel and Verstappen, who stands on two world titles for now. "Vettel had a great natural talent, worked hard, had a great work ethic and had a fantastic family around him who raised him wonderfully," the Brit stated.
"But they are very different people. They are both determined, they have that in common, but Sebastian is more concerned with his head. Max is just very natural at what he does. They are just very different characters, both very nice, both very generous, but different personalities."
