Polish tennis star Swiatek beats Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen does not always win, it turns out. Indeed, the world champion in Formula 1 is not the Best Athlete in Europe in 2022. The Dutchman had to leave this award to Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek.
The election is held annually by a Polish news agency. Twenty news agencies in Europe are then asked about who they think is the best European athlete of the year. Verstappen finished third in this year's election. Last year's prize was also not won by Verstappen, as a tennis player, Novak Djokovic, also won.
Pole vault
Swiatek received 118 votes. Verstappen had to settle with 82 votes. World-famous pole vaulter Armand Duplantis came second in the election.
