Drive to Survive helps 'superstar' Steiner: 'The attention helps Haas’
- GPblog.com
Guenther Steiner became world-famous for his performance in Drive to Survive. Steiner can laugh about it himself and sees that his popularity is also doing the team good.
When the Netflix series Drive to Survive came out, Steiner was still an unknown to many. However, that changed since his presence in the series. Especially in the first year, where the absence of Ferrari and Mercedes put more emphasis on the smaller teams, the flamboyant team boss stood out.
Attention for Steiner
''I did my job, people liked what I do. Liberty Media and Netflix got the best out of it and all of a sudden a lot of people know you! But it's not something that I planned years ago, thinking 'I need to be this, that and the other'. It just happened, and sometimes it is quite a burden as well. Everybody watches you, a lot of people know you,'' Steiner said to The Mirror.
However, Steiner also knows that it is great for Haas that there is so much attention. Statements from the team boss were printed on shirts and sponsor Aldi also took to the quotes. ''It helps the team a lot. Sponsors look at us because we have good exposure, which is nice because they get good exposure for it. There are no negatives, only that we have to do a little more work, but it would be a boring life otherwise,'' concluded the Haas team boss.
