Formula One teams may still travel to China in April to complete a Grand Prix, as reported by Autosport.com. According to the medium, the organisers of the race weekend and Formula 1 are talking to each other to return to the calendar.

For the past three years, the event could not take place because of pandemic. In 2023, the Chinese Grand Prix was supposed to return to the programme, but in December it was cancelled again due to travel restrictions. However, the situation in the country seems to be changing.

A relaxation of the measures could create an opportunity to go to China in a few months' time. Consequently, the organisers are reportedly busy discussing the possibilities of having a Chinese race after all.

Possible 24-race F1 season after all

In doing so, the Chinese Grand Prix is fortunate that no replacement has yet been appointed. Both parties have until the end of January to reverse the earlier decision and put the race back on the calendar. There seems to be enough time to reach an agreement. It would mean that Formula 1 could still have as many as 24 race weekends next season.
