Williams appoints Vowles as new team boss
- GPblog.com
Williams has found the new team boss for next season with James Vowles. The Brit is the successor to Jost Capito and will start work for the new season on 20 February.
Vowles now has 21 years in Formula 1 behind him and should bring his experience gained in those seasons to Williams. For the past four seasons, he has been Motorsport Strategy Director at Mercedes and played a key role in the team's successes in that capacity.
Vowles ready for new challenge
At Williams, however, a different challenge awaits him. The team finished last season in last place in the constructors' championship and therefore has a lot of work to do to meet their sky-high ambitions. With the departure of Capito and the arrival of the talented Logan Sargeant, a lot has changed in recent months. Vowles must manage to get the formation back to a common goal and get the utmost out of the team.
