Norris spoke in the past 'not solely with Red Bull'
- GPblog.com
It is a public secret that Lando Norris has been around the table with Red Bull Racing in the past to talk about his future. However, that does not mean the Austrian formation was the only party interested, he told Motorsport.com.
Norris previously extended his contract until the end of 2025, but before signing his new commitment he decided to sit down with several formations. The British talent thinks this is more than logical, however, as he believes it is important to know what the personal chances are.
"Whenever you're coming to the end of a contract, you always want to have talks with as many people as you can to weigh up your options and know what might be a better path for you," explained Norris, who had serious discussions with Red Bull, among others.
"So, it wasn't solely with Red Bull. It was different talks with different people. What could happen now? What could maybe happen in the future? Everyone has those talks," Norris concluded. However, the driver decided to stay with Red Bull.
Long-term contract for Norris
At McLaren, Norris hopes to one day win the world title. The driver felt he needed peace of mind to do so, which is why he says he decided to sign a long-term contract. Next season, he will compete with teammate Oscar Piastri.
