Vandoorne on Schumacher: 'He needs to start prioritising'

Mick Schumacher had to leave Haas and the Formula 1 grid last season. The situation was not entirely dismal: Mercedes hired the young German as a reserve driver. Stoffel Vandoorne knows what it is like to be in that situation.
In an interview with Mirror Sport the Belgian indicated that Schumacher should start thinking carefully about what his priorities are regarding his career, as it could now go downhill. "We're all on our own career paths, and everyone's path works out completely different. Ultimately, it's up to Mick to decide what he really wants to do and where he wants to put his efforts,” Vandoorne says.
FE an option for Schumacher?
After the 2018 F1 season, Vandoorne was sacked by McLaren. Like Schumacher, he was taken in by Mercedes as a reserve driver and, in addition, he made the choice to join Formula E. The latter is something Schumacher has not done, but it may be an option for the future.
"For me, it was quite an easy decision to go to Formula E and, ever since I joined, I've fully focussed on this championship and trying to be the best I can. A few years down the line, it's worked out – I've now won a championship and hopefully I can win some more in the future," says Vandoorne.
